…consistently lives up to its thrust as the information arm of the government serving a key and vital role in disseminating the vision, mission, and goals of the Presidency and the Government focusing on the TEN POINT AGENDA set by the PGMA Administration, the SONA Statements and the Medium Term Philippines Development Plan.

This Office basically carries out the information, education, communication and advocacy components of the various programs and projects of the Presidency and the Government and enhances its linkages and networks to provide assistance to the different NGAs, PGAs, and LGUs as well as non-government, religious and civic organizations in terms of information and communication development in the province of Sorsogon.

Furthermore, this Office constantly spearheads series of information caravans, kapihan, talakayan, public forum, symposium, trainings, seminars, workshops, orientations, lectures, press coverage, press conferences, radio/TV programs/guestings/ interviews/feeds, situationer reporting and advisories, issue monitoring, preparation and dissemination of press releases and distribution of IEC materials to live up to its mandate as the primary information arm of the government focusing on the thrusts, programs and projects of the PGMA Administration and on the “BANGON SORSOGON“ of the provincial government, under the auspices of Governor Raul R. Lee.

PIA Sorsogon Information Center, in cooperation with the Lingap para sa Kalusugan ng Sambayanan (LIKAS), Inc., also maintains, with ICM Irma Guhit serves as co-anchor of LIKAS consultant Dr. Eddie Dorotan, the INI AN SORSOGANON! radio program aired regularly every Sunday, 10:00-11:00 AM, at the SPIRIT-FM (DZGN-FM) station simulcast at RADYO NATIN-FM stations in Irosin and Pilar towns as well as HOT-FM in Casiguran, Sorsogon. Ini an Sorsoganon! radio program manifests and intensifies the thrust of the PIA as the information and communication arm of the government to promote the development objectives set by the PGMA Administration, the SONA Statements and the Medium Term Philippines Development Plan to the people heightening public awareness and support for nation building.

In its continuous desire to strengthen and harness its commitment to fully serve the government and the people, this Office serves as officer or chairperson and members of the different provincial councils, task forces, local technical working groups, quick response teams (QRT), advocacy teams and committees to address various fields of concerns for development in province.
